How To Use It - Sizzix Big Shot

I received a question today about the correct sandwiching for the Big Shot and the various die cuts and embossing folders so I thought I'd give you a basic overview of the top three uses today!

Now I do things just a bit differently than Sizzix recommends because I prefer to layer my paper first and then my die on top of the paper. In order to do that, my sandwiching is slightly different than Sizzix's(following my directions or the directions that come with the Big Shot will both work.)

1) Sizzix and/or Tim Holtz dies (Thick dies) - Working from the bottom, up: Clear plastic plate, cardstock, die, clear plastic plate. Run through the Big Shot.

2) Nestibilities and/or QuicKutz - Working from the bottom, up: Thick white platform with Tab 1 and Tab 2 closed, clear plastic plate, cardstock, die, clear plastic plate. Run through the Big Shot.

3) Embossing Folder - Working from the bottom, up: Thick white platform with Tab 1 open, clear plastic plate, embossing folder with cardstock inserted, clear plastic plate. Run through the Big Shot.

Hopefully that answers some basic questions for you! Of course you'll always welcome to stop by the store with more questions or for more details. And we happen to have the Big Shot in stock...why not stop by this weekend, grab a Big Shot, and start practicing!

Design Team Highlight - Nicole Wise

I owe you guys many more design team pages but I had to quickly share this amazing layout done by Nicole Wise. OK, we confess...sometimes we like to really give our team a challenge and we did that this month with Nicole! We gave her this great clock paper from Teresa Collins (we also carry paper that coordinate with this clock) and asked her to create something. And we were so excited with what she came up with! She's a music instructor during the day and she created a layout that showcased her "keeping time" with the band. How fun is that! Stop by the store to see this beauty in person!

How to Use It - Crop-A-Dile

Ever seen this tool and wonder what it does? Well if you ever add eyelets to projects or need to punch a hole through a heavy cardstock or chipboard, then you need to consider purchasing a Crop-a-dile! The Crop-a-dile is an all-in-one tool that punches holes and silently sets eyelets (this is an especially nice feature if your family is tired of hearing you bang on your craft table to set eyelets!). The Crop-a-dile features 1/8" and 3/16" hole punching capabilities and is able to quickly set eyelets of both sizes with ease. But one of my favorite features of this tool is its ability to punch through a variety of materials, such as tin, cardstock, leather, fabric, chipboard, and other thick materials. Standard hole punches can't hold a candle to this tool's punching abilities!
