Design Team Highlight - Pam Anthony

We continue to be thrilled with all of the new layouts that are arriving, thanks to our design team, in the store. The walls are coming alive with beautiful art!

Today's layout is from one of our dear customers and DT members, Pam Anthony. She used this delightful nature-inspired paper from The Paper Company. And how about the addition of that darling birdie die cut, which is also part of this paper line, it's so cute! I love how Pam pulled the orange and green color combo from the designer paper...a perfect way to create a cohesive and color coordinated layout.

Pam - thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work with us! Be sure to stop in to see all of the lovely work that has been added to the store!

The Best Way to Clean Stamps

The foam backed Rubit-Scrubit Pad is the quickest, easiest, and safest way to clean your rubber stamps, no matter how deeply etched. The scrubbing surface is tough enough to clean into every crevice, yet gentle on your rubber, while the foam backing provides a soft, non-skid cushion to work on when rubbing and to hold onto when scrubbing.

This is seriously my favorite stamp cleaning pad and a batch of these just arrived at the store!

Design Team Highlight - Regina DiCicco

Hi all! I'm so excited to share one of our very first Design Team layouts that will be on display in the store! I just love new artwork!!

This beauty was created by Regina using designer paper from The Paper Loft. (We have the entire line in the store along with a variety of coordinating sentiments and paper embellishments). I love the way that Regina cut around the pumpkins to create a pocket for her main image....so clever! And the circles down the right side of the paper is such a perfect addition to the page, mimicking the circle shape of the pumpkins. She finished up the page with some green Stickles on the vines. Great layout!

Stop by the store today to check out Regina's page and to pick up some of this lovely Fall-themed paper from The Paper Loft.

Meet the Design Team

We're were so thrilled with all of the wonderful submissions we received for our design team. Thank you so much to everyone who shared their artwork!! It was a challenge to pick just four new team members but we did it and are proud to announce our design team for the term running October, 2010-March, 2011! Betty Dudley, Pam Anthony, Regina DiCicco, and Nicole Wise! Welcome ladies, we can't wait to see your beautiful work!!

And here's a little bit of info from each of our DT members:
My name is Betty and I live in Sanford, ME. I have been scrapbooking since 2004 and love everything about this hobby. I am lucky to be able to stay home and scrap when ever I want. I have been married for 37 years to a wonderful guy who supports my obsession with scrapbooking. I have two children and they have blessed me with five beautiful grandchildren. They are who I scrap for. They also remind me of who has more pages and whose book I need to work on! I would stay that I am a simple but complicated scrapbooker. I say complicated because I want the perfect layout every time.

Hi, All!! I am so excited to be a part of the Design Team at Wholly Scrap! Let me introduce myself…. My name is Nicole Wise. I live in Southern Maine with my husband and two kids, who are six and seven years old. They are the main reason I scrap. I love to scrap the funny moments and how they grow and change. During the day, I am a Middle School Music Teacher. I just finished up my 12th year of teaching and while I am super excited for summer, I love teaching! The kids are super fun and keep me entertained every day.

I have been scrapping for about four years. In the past two years, it has truly grown into an obsession that I am thinking about all the time. I am always looking for fun ideas to use in my scrapping and I enjoy surfing the internet to find interesting things.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi, I'm Regina and I was born in 1973, the only child of Paula and Jim. I grew up in a small town in Newton, NH and have lived here most of my life. The people I have met and friends that I made, along with Mom and Dad, have helped transform me into the person that I am...a wife, graduate, runner, nurse practitioner, honor society member, and author. I love to keep busy and to spend time at the beach. You can usually find me driving to Boston for work (at 4:30 am)! or shopping at Wholly Scrap!

I'm Pam and was lucky enough to grow up with a grandmother who was a home economics teacher. She taught me how to cook, bake, sew, quilt, embroider, crochet, and knit over the years. She died when I was 20 but my love of crafting has stayed with me.

After receiving my BS in Nursing, I moved to NY and worked in Mt. Sinai Hospital. While there I completed my Masters Degree in Nursing and began a career as a Professor of Nursing. At the age of 35 I entered law school and met my future husband. My precious only child was born soon after I passed the bar exam and I decided to be a stay-at-home-Mom, which were the best years of my life. My husband is now retired and we are very happy to be living on the beautiful seacoast of New Hampshire.

Although I started scrapbooking around 10 years ago, I put it aside for a long time until I discovered Wholly Scrap! The Kit of the Month club has inspired me! My photos are now organized and ready to be scrapbooked! The additional skills I have learned in stamping classes have added more fun to my scrapbooking and I know love card making as well!

Please join me in welcoming these wonderful ladies to our team! In the next few weeks you'll be seeing their artwork displayed in the store. We are proud to have them as customers and friends and can't wait to share their work!

You're My World Album

Edited to add the directions!Have you seen the latest album kit being offered at Wholly Scrap!? It's a visual delight! A darling boardbook created by our very own Gillian. This love filled album was created using some darling earth-inspired paper, glittery letters, and a white gel pen....Who knew it could be so fast and easy to create such a wonderful treasure!

The best part? Gillian has already cut and collected all of the supplies needed for the album...All you need to do is stop by the store, pick one up, and start assembling! No muss, no fuss...Now that's divine...

Tonight I'm posting all of the photos and tomorrow I'll be back to fill in with specific directions so stay tuned...and for now, sit back and enjoy the show!

Cover (shown above): Cut yellow card stock to fit the front, round the right two corners, use an exacto knife to cut out the large world (so that you leave the words around it intact). Cut out flower border and add to a strip of blue cardstock. Cut out 2 brown flowers and 1 yellow flower. Add foam tape to the back so that they will be 3D! Tear the blue cardstock on one side and add to yellow paper. Add “You’re My World!” and add white dashes on the yellow cardstock.

Page 2 (inside cover) - cut blue cardstock to fit the page and round the corners. Cut out a 4 ½ by 6 ½ photo mat in green cardstock. Add the multi colored striped border to the top of the page and the thin yellow border down the left side. Adhere the photo mat. Adhere the rest of the multi colored striped border to the bottom right. Cut out you mean to world to me! Adhere on an angle at the top with foam tape. Add a world at the bottom with some foam tape for dimension. Add 2 sparkly sticker asterisks above the photo mat. Add the “Kiss Me” to the bottom striped border.
Page 3 – Cut the pattern paper in half so that half the border is on one sheet and half is on the other sheet. Add a strip of blue cardstock with a ripped edge so that the paper will fill the page. Cut the paper to fit the page. Add the green border to the left side. Add a brown 4 ½ by 6 ½ photo mat at an angle. Mat “the earth laughs in flowers” icon in yellow cardstock. Add to the top of the page. Add “& Hug Me” to the bottom. Add the dashed white lines on the edge of the photo mat.
Page 4 – (just like page 3) Use the other half of the pattern paper for this page. Add brown cardstock with a ripped edge to make the paper fit the page. Add a green photo mat at an angle. And add the “if you love what you have… the whole world belongs to you” icon matted in yellow cardstock. Add “Hold On” to the bottom of the page.
Page 5 – Cut a brown piece of cardstock to fit the page. Add a strip of the multi colored plaid border at the bottom matted in yellow ripped cardstock. Add yellow ribbon on the border and tie a bow to the right side. Cut out the circular “We’ve got the whole world in our hands…” mat this in blue cardstock and add a dashed line on the outside of the blue circle. Add foam tape to the circle and add it to the left side of the page. Add “TO LOVE” at the bottom of the page.

Page 6 – Cut striped pattern paper to fit the page. Add a strip of green ripped cardstock about 2” thick to the right side of the page. Cut the multi colored trees border in half so that each side has 3 trees. Add the multi colored trees border to the top under the cardstock. Add a yellow photo mat with white dashes to the bottom. Add a world with foam tape half on the photo mat and half on the cardstock. Add “HEART” diagonally.

Page 7 – (opposite of 6) Cut circles pattern paper to fit page. Add a strip of green ripped cardstock about 2” thick to the left side of the page. Add the multi colored trees border to the bottom under the cardstock. Add a yellow photo mat with white dashes to the top. Add a world with foam tape half on the photo mat and half on pattern paper. Add “U BABE” diagonally.

Page 8 – Cut blue tree paper down the middle of the tree. Use the bigger paper first. Cut the paper so that the half blue tree will fit on the page. Add a green photo mat with dashed lines. Of the extra blue pattern paper cut a tag about 3 x 3 3/4”. Add circle pattern paper to the center about 2 ¾ x 3 1/2”. Add a small piece of yellow ribbon folded and stapled to the top. Repeat with a brown cardstock and striped pattern paper tag. Tuck tags under the photo mat facing in towards the center of the book. Add “Love U” down the side of the photo mat.

Page 9 – Add brown cardstock to rest of the blue tree paper to make a full page. Add blue and brown border to the edge between the pattern paper and the cardstock. On the brown cardstock add a green pocket. Cut out a multi colored tree to add to the front of it. Make a tag to fit in it (3 ½ x 2 ¼”) Add world to the top half hanging off the tag and staple yellow ribbon to the world.

Page 8/9 spread - So you can see how the tree meets in the middle of the book.

Page 10 – Cut multi color tree pattern paper to fit the page. Add a strip of yellow cardstock less than 2” in width to the bottom of the page. Add blue and brown border to the left side. Cut out small world with words around it and use foam tape to adhere it over the border. Add “My Heart Is” to the cardstock.

Page 11 – Using the green pattern paper that you cut the world and words out of cut out as much as you can to fill the page. There should be brown swirls in the upper left corner. The lower right corner should be missing. Using the excess green pattern paper, line up the pattern and add the section that you need. Most of this is covered so it does not need to be perfect. Add the brown trees border to the bottom with a small strip of blue ripped cardstock at the bottom. Cut out a brown photo mat with dashes to adhere at an angle on the right side. Make a tag out of green cardstock and the striped paper. Add “URS” to the bottom of the page.

Back Cover - Add the extra piece of cardstock to the back cover. Tie the green fiber going down the middle of the book and tie a bow on the outside.
